Golden Globes 2014: the triumph of Paolo Sorrentino

THE GREAT BEAUTY BECOMES AN OSCAR FRONT-RUNNER IN THE MEANTIME WINS A GOLDEN GLOBE AS BEST FOREING LANGUAGE FILM

Italian critics didn’t welcome it warmly, and yet, The great beauty by Paolo Sorrentino, receiving an award after another one, continues its rise to the Oscars. The film directed by Paolo Sorrentino, that has already achieved the European Film Award, last night won one of the most important prizes in the world, the Golden Globe as best Foreign language film, instead of other favourite contenders, as Blue is the warmest colour, winner of the Palme d’Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.

In anticipation to see if The Great beauty will triumph on March 2nd during the Oscar’s night, (nominations will be revealed next 16th of January), here are all the winners and a gallery of the protagonists of the 2014 Golden Globes evening.
